Keithesha Edwards

Bail has been granted to 21-year-old Keithesha Edwards from Belmont, who appeared in court yesterday facing multiple fraud charges totalling over $70,000.

The allegations involve a “box hand” savings scheme that has left many participants grappling with significant financial losses.

Edwards is accused of orchestrating the scam, facing three counts of obtaining money by false pretences and three counts of fraudulent conversion.

The charges date back to October 2023, revealing a months-long operation that has seemingly caused financial hardship for alleged victims.

When she appeared in court on Monday, Magistrate Conliffe Clarke granted Edwards bail set at $70,000, with a $7,000 cash component and other conditions.

Her committal hearing is on January 23, 2025.

  2. Granting her bail is ridiculous. She should be facing some real criminal times. This is like robbing a bank. It’s not even as little as $5000 and she’s still getting bail after a whole 90k if I remember correctly
