Prime Minister Browne calls for a unified State of Antigua and Barbuda

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua and Barbuda – 1st January 2025……Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda the Hon. Gaston Browne has called on the nation to unify in the transformation of the country into an economic powerhouse.

In his New Year address, Prime Minister Browne reminded the nation of the lessons of the past – a time when leadership incompetence, corruption and the attendant unemployment and reckless value destructive debts, curtailed freedoms that he said held the nation back.

“Our country cannot advance on idleness and idle talk, misinformation and disinformation.  Let us recommit to move forward in peace, love and solidarity, in realizing our common vision of transforming Antigua and Barbuda into an economic powerhouse,” he said.

The Prime Minister said that the nation must move forward with courage and commitment, working collectively to advance as one people.

“Together, we can shape a resilient, harmonious, and prosperous Antigua and Barbuda.

Together, we can ensure that our nation’s best days are still ahead.  Together we can make Antigua & Barbuda a beacon of prosperity, in which our people thrive in peace and happiness,” he said.

Antigua & Barbuda, under the Gaston Browne Administration enjoyed growth of six percent in 2024, expanding the economy to $6B, represented by economic expansion in every sector to include agriculture and increased climate resilience.
