The Liberta Health Clinic has officially reopened its doors to the community after nearly a year-long renovation, bringing much-needed healthcare services back to local residents.
The reopening ceremony, held on Thursday, was attended by a host of officials from the Ministry of Health, community leaders, and members of neighboring schools, all coming together to celebrate this significant milestone.
The atmosphere was filled with joy and gratitude as attendees expressed their relief and appreciation for the clinic’s revival, which will enhance access to critical healthcare services for Liberta and surrounding areas.
The community’s excitement was further amplified by the announcement of a new clinic set to open in Cobbs Cross in approximately eight weeks, marking another achievement for area MP E.P. Chet Greene.
Health Minister Sir Molwyn Joseph emphasized that the reopening symbolizes more than just physical renovations; it is a testament to the government’s commitment to enhancing healthcare infrastructure nationwide.
The renovated clinic will provide essential services such as general medical consultations, maternal and child healthcare, chronic disease management, immunization programs, and emergency medical assistance.
MP Greene shared his frustrations over the clinic’s previous state, recounting how he had continuously urged his fellow ministers to prioritize its improvement. His visit with the Health Minister to the clinic highlighted the urgent need for renovations, leading to the swift action taken by the government.
While the clinic was closed, staff took proactive measures by conducting home visits to patients and arranging transportation for the elderly to access healthcare services. The St. Paul Community Centre also served as a venue for infant vaccinations and other health services during this period.
In recognition of the exceptional dedication to their community, MP Greene honored two nurses, retired Nurses’ Aide Annel Weaver and Nurse Joyann Quinn, for their outstanding work over the years, solidifying the importance of healthcare professionals in the community.
The Liberta Health Clinic’s reopening is a significant step forward in improving the health and wellbeing of the residents in this area, revitalizing hope and access to quality healthcare.
