Former Police Commissioner Edric Potter
The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda, alongside the broader community, is in mourning following the death of former Police Commissioner Edric Potter, who passed away at his home on Thursday.
He was a respected figure in the law enforcement community and served the nation in various influential capacities.
Edric Potter’s career spanned several decades, and he played a pivotal role in the operations of the Royal Police Force before ascending to the position of Commissioner of Police in 1990.
Known for his leadership and dedication, he once headed the Criminal Investigation Department, making significant contributions to enhancing public safety and justice in Antigua and Barbuda.
Potter’s tenure as Commissioner lasted until his retirement in 1995, leaving behind a legacy of commitment to the force and the community. In light of his passing, Acting Commissioner of Police Everton Jeffers expressed condolences to Potter’s family, emphasizing the impact of his leadership during his time in service.
Jeffers noted that he would be in contact with the family to discuss arrangements for Potter’s final resting place.
