Surge in Burglaries and Thefts Leaves Police and Residents on High Alert

Police are investigating a break-in at the Adele School for Special Children, where thieves stole a quantity of cleaning supplies and beverages.

According to reports, Principal Andera Richards Tonge contacted the Criminal Investigations Department after discovering the incident, which occurred sometime between 2:55 p.m. on September 9 and 6:50 a.m. on September 10 at the school’s Ivor Heath Drive location.

Investigators said the perpetrator or perpetrators used a prying tool to force open a southern wooden door, gaining access to the nurse’s office, which was ransacked. The intruder then entered the kitchen area, where several cleaning products and non-alcoholic drinks were stolen.

The exact quantity and value of the stolen items have not yet been determined. Police confirmed that entry and exit were made through the same door.

Several persons in the area were interviewed, but no useful information has yet been obtained. Officers from the Forensic Evidence and Recovery Unit were informed, along with senior investigators.

The investigation is ongoing.

      • Use the cleaning supplies to clean up your dirty heart. Stop stealing. Your hands will be cut off

  3. This is not the first time. It has happened on numerous occasions, always around the time when the school receives supplies. It’s someone in the vicinity of the school doing these break-ins. They see when supplies and donations are brought in then go into action.

  7. This is truly sad. These cleaning products are supplied to the school by parents who in most cases can I’ll afford these items.
Poor parents, on threat of their child/ ward being refused entry to the classroom sacrifice to buy products that they most likely never buy for their own homes only to have some low life reprobate deprive the children of the use.
Truly sad, but God doesn’t sleep.
