The Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre (SLBMC) has received a generous boost toward its breast cancer awareness efforts with a $5,000 donation from Elmsbridge, a leading property development company and proud new sponsor of the hospital’s annual PINKparty fundraising campaign.
The PINKparty, part of SLBMC’s month-long breast cancer awareness initiative, raises funds to acquire a new mammogram system—aimed at improving early detection and expanding access to quality cancer care for women across Antigua and Barbuda.
“As property developers deeply rooted in Antigua, Elmsbridge is committed to supporting the people and places that make this island so special,” said Claire Dobbin, Marketing Manager at Elmsbridge. “We’re honoured to contribute to the PINKparty’s mission to strengthen cancer care and ensure early detection for all.”
SLBMC’s Head of Marketing and Communications, Salma Crump, expressed appreciation for the donation, emphasizing that the hospital’s success in advancing cancer care depends on strong community and corporate partnerships.
“The continued support from organizations like Elmsbridge demonstrates how collaboration can drive better health outcomes. Every contribution—big or small—brings us closer to our goal of enhancing diagnostic and treatment capacity for our people,” Crump said.
This year’s PINKparty takes place on Thursday, October 23, at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium starting at 5:30 p.m.. Members of the public are encouraged to register and participate in support of breast cancer awareness and care.
