Dominica Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has extended congratulations to Prime Minister Gaston Browne following his decisive win in Thursday’s general election, which secured a fourth consecutive term in office for the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP).

In a statement, Skerrit described the result as a strong endorsement of Browne’s leadership and the work of his administration over the past years.

“On behalf of the Government and people of Dominica, I extend warm congratulations to my friend and comrade, Prime Minister Gaston Browne, on his commanding victory in Thursday’s general elections,” Skerrit said.

He said the outcome represents a “resounding vote of confidence” from the people of Antigua and Barbuda, who have returned the ABLP to office to continue what he termed as national development gains.

The ABLP secured a dominant mandate at the polls, further cementing Browne’s position as one of the region’s longest-serving leaders.

Skerrit also underscored Dominica’s interest in strengthening bilateral relations with Antigua and Barbuda, noting that both governments share common regional priorities.

“We in Dominica look forward to strengthening our partnership with Prime Minister Browne and his Government in pursuit of shared regional priorities and the well-being of our people,” he said.

He wished Browne continued success as he begins another term in office, with regional leaders continuing to acknowledge the scale of his electoral victory and its implications for Caribbean cooperation going forward.
