On Tuesday, Minister Rawdon Turner had the privilege of visiting the Antigua and Barbuda Association for Persons Living with Disabilities, where he engaged with individuals to understand their experiences and the challenges they face daily.
The visit provided an opportunity to witness the remarkable resilience and strength displayed by those in the community.
During his time there, Minister Turner toured the on-site aquaponic and traditional small farm, a testament to the innovative spirit that thrives within the organization. This vibrant space not only produces fresh vegetables and fish but also serves as a platform for education and empowerment, fostering hope and independence among individuals with disabilities.
The Minister’s conversations with participants reinforced his commitment to creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for all citizens.
He emphasized the importance of transforming challenges into opportunities and dreams into reality, stating, “Together, we will build a society where every person has the chance to thrive.”
Minister Turner’s visit highlights the government’s dedication to supporting vulnerable populations and promoting a future where everyone, regardless of their challenges, can contribute to and benefit from the community’s growth.
I hope he’s more effective in this regard than he is at National Housing.
ABAPD I applaud your resourcefulness.
Excellent, it’s a great gesture.
Now that you have seen what these people can do and are doing, how about giving them some real help in what ever form they may require it show them you as an individual, as a government that you really, really care..I personally am extremely proud of them
