Three buildings were burnt down on Thursday in Yorks village.
Public Relations Officer of the Fire Department Lester Bagot said when fire officials arrived at the scene, they met an abandoned building on fire, along with a grocery shop and a dwelling house.
“On Thursday, at about 2:04 am, the fire brigade received a call from 9-11 stating that there was a house on fire in Yorks. An immediate response was made and on arrival at the scene they met three buildings on fire” he said.
Bagot said a grocery shop was named A.E.C Enterprise and the dwelling house was owned and occupied by Malcolm Isaac, a ninety-year-old man who was assisted out of the house by neighbors.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
