You can now listen to Antigua News articles!

MP Daryll Matthew

Parents and guardians may be aware that teachers within the public school system initiated industrial action on Wednesday.

The Ministry of Education, Sports, and Creative Industries and its stakeholders remain committed to resolving the outstanding issues, and the situation can be normalized by Thursday morning.

Given the progress made, the Ministry believes that the conditions for ending the industrial action have been satisfied.

Therefore, parents and guardians are advised that students report to school generally on Thursday morning.

The Ministry of Education, Sports, and Creative Industries Daryll Matthew apologizes for any inconvenience the disruption may have caused.

He spoke to ABS Television tonight.

Meanwhile, Sharon Kelsick, the General Secretary of the Antigua and Barbuda Teachers Union, stated that the matter is still unresolved.

She mentioned that the union was in the process of formalizing documents and would contact the education minister afterward.
