A man recently slapped with a murder charge in relation to the death of Syrian Roudi Shmaly has remanded to His Majesty’s Prison.

Jahsiba Shoy is the second person charged in relation to the tragic murder that occurred in May 2023.

Shoy is charged alongside a 16-year-old boy who was remanded since earlier this year after appearing before the court.

Twenty-five-year-old Shmaly met a tragic end during a broad daylight robbery at Pick ‘n Mix Mart on Desouza Road on May 22 earlier this year.

Shoy appeared in the St. John’s Magistrates’ Court this morning charged with both murder and aggravated robbery and was remanded to prison since a Magistrate cannot grant bail for such offences.

He was represented by Attorney Wendel Alexander.
