A Caucasian man, making headlines this week due to distressing claims of being abandoned at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Center, has sadly passed away.

Identified as Jim Hodgekinson, this man initially hails from the UK but has lived in Antigua and Barbuda since 2007, never returning to his homeland.

Reports indicate that he had been at the hospital for over a week. Due to his problematic behavior, he was reportedly left to sleep on chairs outside the emergency room.

He was reportedly, a loner and a heavy marijuana user.

  1. What was he doing here since 2007? Why was he not repatriated in accordance with our Immigration Regulations? Was he ever gainfully employed in Antigua and Barbuda and therefore the holder of a Medical Benefits card thereby entitling him to treatment at the MSJMC? Are the country’s EMS personnel trained/expected to, inter alia, pick up vagrants who seem to be in distress off the streets of Antigua and Barbuda for treatment at the Hospital? So many questions.

  2. Faithful National #1 BAFOON. Why didn’t you go up there and figure all this out if your so interested? BTW if you were on the street needing medical assistance wouldn’t you want to be taken to the hospital if an ambulance was called for you? If your sick it doesn’t matter if you have a medical benefits card it’s a hospital dummy your supposed to get treated , it has nothing to do with entitlement when it comes to health care you ignorant clown. You sound like a very prejudice person. Typical Antiguan
