Hundreds of protesters took to the streets of St. John’s in a display of unity and determination.

The rally, organized by the United Progressive Party (UPP) dubbed the ‘Action Freedom March,’ drew attention from both city residents and onlookers who gathered to witness the unfolding events.

The protesters expressed their frustrations over a range of pressing issues, including the high cost of living that has been affecting families and individuals across the region.

Many carried signs highlighting their grievances, calling for action from local authorities to address what they said were the country’s growing signs of economic hardship

In addition to economic concerns, the march also spotlighted unresolved crimes and mysterious disappearances that have left many in St. John’s feeling unsafe.

Speakers at the event called for greater accountability and transparency from law enforcement and government officials, demanding that their voices be heard in the ongoing discussions surrounding public safety.

We have bigger issues like finding the missing child. Why didn’t they turn this into a search instead.
Right now people don’t want to hear about anything but Chantel

The UPP has become so irrelevant that even this their intended moment of glory turned out to be a most unwelcome, distasteful gathering especially on a day and at a time when ALL decent, caring Antiguans were united and sick with worry over the disappearance/ abduction of a nine year old school child. They had so much hope for a march of all marches that they, despite their mantra of “People First” went ahead with their sole music truck, ugly, recycled placards and scores of shame-faced, tired looking, diehard, heartless followers. So many lessons were learnt yesterday. The writing is on the wall!

Isn’t the missing child a crime committed in Antigua? So, the people were marching against it and other crimes. Didn’t the people marched around Jerico when a lot evils were happening? So, what is the difference now today from back in Biblical times? Same evils and the same marching. It’s saddened my heart ❤️ to hear of this young girl missing. What is happening to my beloved country of Antigua? We need more security cameras installed and monitors around the country.

Regardless to who organized the march, the reasons are timely and relevant. As reported, one of those reasons is missing people. Isn’t Chantelle missing? So how is this march distasteful?
