Police are probing a late-night attack in Browne’s Avenue that left an elderly woman injured.
According to reports, the 80-year-old resident heard a noise outside her home shortly after midnight on Monday, and when she opened her front door, she was struck on the head with a hard object by an unknown assailant.
The woman was taken to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, where doctors confirmed her injury was not life-threatening. She was treated and is expected to be discharged.
Two men from the area were later detained on suspicion of wounding as investigations continue.

Come on now man. Attacking an 80 year old. Smfh.
That’s why I don’t like to hear about elderly people living alone
Question. Why did she open her front door? You heard a noise outside then you made noise inside. Not open your door
An elderly? Well well. Sometimes I wonder what is it with these hoodlums
COWARDS! Preying on the elderly and the very young! Two groups that the word of God tells us to care for. Don’t worry God sits up high and watches down low. He sees who you are. God will reward in full in time. Shame on you!
The police must find whoever did this quickly. No one should feel unsafe in their own yard, especially not our elders.
The government should get solar powered streetlight with camera combination out of china to replace all streetlights system and help the police fight crime
