Family members, friends, and supporters of the late Kahleel Simon once again gathered outside the Police Headquarters on American Road on Friday, demanding justice in the ongoing investigation into his death.
Among those present was Member of Parliament for St. Mary’s South, Kelvin “Shugy” Simon, who has been a consistent advocate for accountability and transparency in the case.

The MP joined relatives and community members who say they are frustrated that the officer who pulled the trigger and killed the teenage boy on his birthday is still at work.
“An innocent young man, full of promise, cut down in the prime of his life by those sworn to protect and serve. Kahleel Simon should be alive today, not another name added to the list of victims of senseless police violence. We will not be silent. We will not accept excuses. We will not allow this injustice to be buried beneath bureaucracy and lies”, Simon said.

“To Kahleel’s family, we stand with you. To his supporters, we join you. And to the powers that be, the blood of this innocent young man is on your hands until justice is served,” he added
They made it clear that they want him suspended from the force until investigations are complete.
Holding placards and chanting “Justice for Kahleel”, the group called for renewed police action and greater public attention to what they describe as an unresolved tragedy that continues to haunt their community.

MP Simon said his presence was not political but personal, as he stands in solidarity with the grieving family.
“This is about justice. Plain and simple. We will not stop until Kahleel and his family get the answers they deserve,” Simon declared.
The peaceful demonstration marked yet another chapter in the family’s ongoing campaign for justice, as they continue to press authorities for updates and accountability in the case.

Normal process when any Police officer is involve in a shooting incident unless the process has changed.
1:ON THE SCENE
A. A Senior police is immediately called the rank of Sargent are above
B . All evidence is collected i.e. firearm, all relevant evidence relating to the Police officer. Please remember we are govern by the British are Caribbean rules and not the United States. The process is more lengthy. Hopefully I get more space to continue.
C. One correction it must always be at least a rank or two above the Police officer
D. You must always remove the officer from the public eye if the officer is involved with a civilian
Please remember the objective is to let the public be aware that an investigation is ongoing. Please note any shooting accidental or otherwise is always investigated.
E. Removal from the public can be any area in the police force where the public doesn’t have immediate access. So Beat and patrol or any areas serving the public is out. Hence several areas where they are usually posted is.
A. Transportation which is normally at PHQ
B. SSU which is also base at PHQ even though tactical unit that person can actually remain on base until .
C. Communication. Which is also base at PHQ.
F.
I would like to call out Asst. Commissioner Burnette and Pompey who’s reply has left little to no understanding for the public on Police procedures and ask them to further emphasize on those points for the public. These procedures has been there for a very long time and maybe if someone would layout the procedures the public will better understand the process. I do agree that maybe the Police Service Commission can also weigh in Mr. Hill. There are several people who instead of finding faults in the system can enlightened the public. As to why what is happening. Let’s find ways to strengthen and correct the system. Mr Prime Minister please let the public be aware that it’s not the police or any official covering up but it’s the (SOP) Maybe that might need change to better investigate and deal with Police involved shooting.
Everytime i reqd this story is feel very heartbroken for the family of this young man
The family deserves answers so please give it to them and let’s not make this political
The police commissioner has failed us. He isnt who we thought he is. He failed us badly. All hope lost
They should not stop until something happens
Keep up the fight. We are with you in spirit from all over the world
Curse is upon the land . Too much injustice
Justice for chantel. Justice for K Simon. Justice for Manny. Justice for Bruce Greenaway
The family’s pain is unimaginable. Justice delayed is justice denied we need transparency and answers.
If you guys let this die like your son died then other people’s children will die the same way
Happy to see the MP out in support. Shows human touch
