Newton Thanks Supporters, Congratulates Pringle After Election Defeat

Lamin Newton offers congratulations to opponent Jamale Pringle after election defeat

Lamin Newton has issued a gracious and measured response following his defeat in the All Saints East & St. Luke constituency, thanking supporters and pledging to remain engaged in public service.

In a statement released Saturday after the results, Newton expressed deep gratitude for what he described as an “outpouring of support, encouragement, and kind words” from constituents and well-wishers.

“Many of you have shared that you witnessed the work, felt our presence, and appreciated the effort. That, in itself, is meaningful and strengthens my commitment,” he said, noting that the connection built with voters remains strong despite the electoral outcome.

Newton acknowledged that the result was not what his campaign had hoped for but said he respects the democratic process.

He extended congratulations and best wishes to Jamale Pringle, who retained the seat.

“While the outcome was not what we hoped for, I acknowledge the results and extend best wishes to Hon. Jamale Pringle as he continues in this role,” Newton stated.

Addressing constituents directly, Newton made it clear that his political journey is far from over, describing the loss as a source of motivation rather than defeat.

“To the people of All Saints East & St. Luke, this is not the end. It is motivation to grow stronger, be better and do even more,” he said.

He reaffirmed his commitment to the constituency, promising to remain present and active in the community.

“My commitment to you remains unwavering. The work continues, and I will continue to show up, listen, and serve,” Newton added.

The message signals Newton’s intention to maintain a visible role in national and constituency affairs, even outside of elected office, as he looks to build on the support garnered during the campaign.
